Park Inn Berlin recertificated for the pharmaceutical Industry’s Code of Conduct
Re-certification: The pharmaceutical industry can hold its conferences at our hotel in conformity with the Code of Conduct
Berlin, June 2011 – It has been determined once again that the Park Inn by Radisson Berlin Alexanderplatz operates strictly according to the Code of Conduct for pharmaceutical companies that regulates the holding of their conventions. The corresponding certification, granted by the company MICE AG, has been extended to 2012 and confirms that the four-star superior hotel remains an attractive address for events in the capital city of Berlin – ranging from client conferences, trade conventions and even doctor training courses. The hotel has once again fulfilled all examined criteria and is therefore granted permission to keep the certification seal “kodexkonform.de“ through the end of June 2012. “Berlin is one of the preferred locations for events of the pharmaceutical industry. With over 1,000 rooms, we can also handle large-scale inquiries and offer reasonable rates at our central location at Alexanderplatz,” Hotel Director Thomas Hattenberger explains. “We are pleased to be able to guarantee pharmaceutical companies optimal framework conditions, which is certainly a decisive factor in selecting the location for their events.” In order to counter accusations of corruption, since 2004 the pharmaceutical industry is obligated to adhere to stipulated regulations. This so-called “common stance” ensures transparency in the cooperation between doctors and the industry. Since then, clear guidelines have also been in effect for the planning of medical events and training courses. Conference hotels can request evaluation according to the selection criteria stipulated by the German association for the voluntary self-regulation of the pharmaceutical industry (FSA-Freiwilligen Selbstkontrolle für die Arzneimittelindustrie e.V.). In order to be considered in conformity with this Code of Conduct, the recreational value of a hotel cannot be its main emphasis. The hotels must be easily reachable for speakers and participants, prove many years of experience in the organisation and conducting of events, and offer the technical infrastructure required of a conference hotel.
